The staffs are super friendly and helpful. Room is clean,spacious with a warm vibe. The private hot spring is perfect.

I spent 1 month travelling around Japan, and I can say it’s the BEST experience in my trip. I loved everything, the family’s hospitality , the room’s view breathtaking and the amazing food, which was delicately prepared with organic local ingredients , so delicious, the best meal in Japan, for sure. Besides, in the breakfast they surprise my friend singing happy birthday in Portuguese, a beautiful gesture and unforgettable. Thank you so much for all, your family is a great team!!!

Also the hotel itself doesnt take many guests so hardly get to bump into any other guests- feels like I own the whole place for myself almost.

Most magical place. Never stayed anywhere like it with such an incredible view of the river. Felt like a dream. Food and service were remarkable

Unfortunately we didn't get there until late around 8pm, due to trains and train problems: they leave Nagoya every 2 hours and ours was delayed (so give yourself time to get there at a reasonable time) {I phoned them to let them know we would be late},you will also need to take a local train from Takayama. It was raining and we were cold and tired. Since we were late I wasn't sure if we would get supper even though I had paid for it. But thankfully we did and the food was excellent! Very fancy! We ate in a private dinning room looking out on to a garden. Our room was excellent! It was quite big for Japan. There was tatami mats, interesting monkey scroll in the alcove, interesting classy furnishings even the bathroom sink was beautiful. The hot springs/ baths were very good , I enjoyed the outdoor ones which had beautiful gardens. I loved wandering the halls of this ryokan lots of traditional architecture and art work (a beautiful folding screen). You really can feel the history of this hotel.

다카야마의 중심부의 인기 있는 미야가와 아침시장에서 도보로 1분 거리에 위치한 Sumiyoshi Ryokan은 역사가 오래된 타운하우스 건물에서 아늑한 일본식 객실을 제공합니다. 로비와 객실에서 무료 Wi-Fi 접속이 가능합니다. We loved our stay here. I cannot recommend this Ryokan enough - if you get the chance I promise you the price is so so worth it. The staff are so friendly, the food is AMAZING, the beds are comfortable, the onsen itself is so lovely and relaxing. This is just a wonderful cozy place to stay in Japan.
